Highlander Voyager Ultra Compact Lite Sleeping Bag Review

When it comes to travelling and outdoor items, Highlander is one of my family’s most trusted brands. And being a brood of explorers, you may think I’m already an expert. Apparently, I’m not. It was just last year when I dedicated more of time into travelling and exploring the great outdoors. I’m not into purchasing new items as well hence; in all those trips of mine I was using my brother’s sleeping bag. It fits well, weighs just right and is very comfortable.

I was plainly contented with borrowing it until by brother gave me my own Highlander Voyager Ultra Compact Lite Sleeping Bag. Now I have something to call my own, but above that, I realized this was way better than the other Highlander sleeping bag I was using; probably because it’s not meant for my body shape and all.

So far, this sleeping bag has accompanied me to 13 outdoor journeys already and surely, it will be with me for many more explorations I’ll have.

Product Features

On the outside

Let’s first focus on the built and outside features of this bag. Basically, my Highlander Voyager Ultra Compact Lite Sleeping Bag has a dimension of 215x70x30cm and a packed size of 18x17x17cm. I have no idea how the manufacturer can magically transform the item into something small enough to be packed in such a small and snug sac but believe me, rolling it up and keeping it away is just a piece of cake. The weight and warmth ratio is also great with its comfort range of 6°c to 18°c and extreme temperature of -7°c. With this, I don’t have to worry about being too cold or sweaty in any travelling I’ll have.

Inner specs

On the inside, just like any sleeping bags, you can expect a soft and puffy sleeping bag. But with the Highlander Voyager Ultra Compact Lite Sleeping Bag, it’s something way better. This is filled with 100gsm 7 hole siliconised hollow fibre for extra coziness and convenience and is equipped with a breathable polyester lining. The combination of the soft inner fabric and loose outer layer makes this item unique and indeed, worth the buy. I also love the fact that it is designed with full length baffle and 2 way anti-snag zips, this item is rated with 1-2 season – something I would really command.

More of it

Oh yes, the Highlander Voyager Ultra Compact Lite Sleeping Bag has more to offer. It comes with its own compression sack for easier carriage and is built with hanging loops of airing. I also love the internal security pocket that helps me keeps a couple of important items I want to sleep with, without scattering them in my tent. The mummy style hood provides better heat retention which comes with a draw cord.

Where it can be improved

If there’s one thing I want to improve with the Highlander Voyager Ultra Compact Lite Sleeping Bag that would be the narrowness of the item. I’m not that behave when I sleep and I always find myself waking up in a “running man” position, which is a bit impossible with this item. Because it gets narrower and narrower up to the lower area, don’t have enough space to move my somewhat fidgeting legs.
