Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket Review
For great explorers like me and my own group of travel buddies (yes, gotta give credit to them as well, of course) exploring the unique phases of the great outdoors is the best thing in the world. That includes extremely cold places, murky yet vivid forests, overall drench mountains and terrains and of course, the cooling cascades of nature. Because this is more than a hobby for me, it is right and just that I get myself the best clothing and gears for all my trips.
One of my fave would be the Patagonia Torrentshell jacket. I admire the comfort and close fit of this item and the balance of breathability. Not all trekking jackets acquire such feature hence; it’s something I really want to brag that I bumped onto this product.
Product Features
Fit and versatility
Okay, I would want to make further clarification about the balanced fit and comfort of this item. It’s just simply surprising that a jacket with this design can be very flexible, as if you’re just wearing a loose sweatshirt, although not that literal. It offers a variety of sizes and even has sizes for kids hence that alone can be considered versatility. The Patagonia Torrentshell jacket is basically a 2.5 layer nylon jacket with breathable and waterproof barrier. Indeed, that’s perfect for those drenched terrains and cold areas I explore.
It’s also equipped with H2No® Performance Standard shell for additional comfort. No matter how thick your inner clothing is or even if you simply wear a shirt inside, you can definitely feel the coziness brought by this item.
Jacket’s system
The microfleece-lined neck and laminated visor clearly says that this is not your usual jacket. The visor that is connected to the hood can be adjusted, rolling it down and stowing it for better fit. The microfleece-lined neck, on the other hand, provides an extra dose of warmth up to your neck area. The jacket is built with a durable center zipper which features less welt storm flap. This feature basically creates a zipper-garage chin guard. It also has two pockets that serve as hand warmers. The venting pit zips also come in very useful. Last two on the system list would be the Patagonia Torrentshell jacket‘s DWR-treated zippers and welted exterior storm flaps.
More, more, more specs
I’m not done yet with this jacket; I still want to highlight its materials and other specs that every consumer should know about. On top of the list would be the self-fabric hook-and-loop cuff closures. It also comes with an adjustable drawstring hem seal out elements. The self-stuff hand warmer pocket is also accompanied with carabiner clip-in loop. The out most layer of the Patagonia Torrentshell jacket is not only waterproof but also windproof.
Where it can be improved
Despite the contrary, many consumers have commented about the price of this item. Naturally, Patagonia is a little expensive brand, but if the product acquires all the mentioned features and specs I can still consider it as worth my investment. Aside from the price, there’s nothing else I can concede as downer.

Wrap It Up
Definitely a yes! This is one of the best items you can ever find when talking about outdoor travelling wardrobe and you might just regret it if you will let this product slip away. With a high level of snugness, a wide array of color and size choices, and a very reasonable rate, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t invest for this. Okay, it may call for a few weeks of saving but I guarantee you, all will be worth it.
